Glory glory Portugal!

Day 11 in South Africa was all about goals – the seven Portugal put past Korea DPR and the one that Switzerland custodian Diego Benaglio conceded against Chile. Spain finally found their range, meanwhile, to get their campaign back on track by beating Honduras.

As the rain teemed down in Cape Town, so the goals flooded in as Portugal routed Group G rivals Korea DPR 7-0. When these teams met in the 1966 FIFA World Cup™ quarter-finals, the North Koreans raced into a three-goal lead before succumbing 5-3 but the only thing the rematch had in common was the presence of Eusebio, watching from the stands. Portugal led only 1-0 at half-time but tore apart their opponents after the restart to record their highest FIFA World Cup win and take a big step towards the Round of 16. For the North Koreans, so promising against Brazil in their first match, the game is already up.

A goalfest was never on the cards at Port Elizabeth Stadium given Switzerland's defensive obduracy and Chile's profligacy in front of goal – even with the Swiss reduced to ten men by Valon Behrami's 31st-minute red card. As in their first game, it took the South Americans 20 shots to score one goal but Mark Gonzalez's second-half strike was enough to give Chile the outright lead in Group H – and end Switzerland's record-breaking run without conceding.

Lastly to Johannesburg, where Spain bounced back from defeat by the Swiss with a 2-0 success against Honduras. David Villa scored twice but spurned the chance of a hat-trick with a second-half penalty miss – the first by a Spaniard on the world stage. The European champions' shots-per-goals ratio in the tournament is now 23/1, even higher then Chile's, so pity the poor Jabulani when the pair meet in their group decider in Tshwane/ Pretoria on Friday.

Goal of the day
Portugal 6-0 Korea DPR, Cristiano Ronaldo, 87 mins: It did not rival some of his team's superbly worked goals for quality, but Portugal's captain deserved the stroke of fortune that brought his first international strike since February 2009 and left him grinning broadly. As against Côte d'Ivoire, Ronaldo had earlier rattled the Korean crossbar with a spectacular effort from distance but this time his luck was in: goalkeeper Ri Myong-Guk saved at his feet but the ball spun up, bouncing on the back of his head before landing at his feet for an easy conversion.

Its funny though when I look at Ronaldo's goal...
the ball just bounce in his back and his head...he exactly dont know where the ball is..it's like he just doing freestyle...funny!haha
and the ball just fall in front of him and then he just need to put a little touch to make his first goal...he smile,,,and i think he just said,"how come the ball be like that,,,its not the right time to make a freestyle..this is a match..not a show"
:ha?:

but,i'm really disappointed with my team performance at first round..
how can they reach the final if they keep playing like this?
england-with the keeper always joking around..how can he let the ball going through his hand...ish2...
:sigh:

Quote of the day
"From now on people can stop their silly talk about us being favourites and winning this World Cup easily," Spain defender Gerard Pique.

Voice of the fans
"Come on, Bafana Bafana. We can still win – let there be a tie between France and Mexico, and then you beat France. Then we're all happy," FIFA.com user MattH_RSA.

No team has ever recovered from losing their opening game to win the FIFA World Cup. Can Spain bounce back from their defeat by the Swiss and become the first?

Balance Of The World

Someone asked,”Pak Mat why do people go in different directions, when they leave their houses in the morning?” Pak Mat answered without hesitation,”If all of them were to go in the same direction, the balance of the world would be thrown off!”

Chronicles of Malay Humor

The Mosquito

One day, Pak Mat, pak Him and Pak Lahwere sitting together sharing a meal. As they were eatng, a mosquito started to buzz aroundtheir heads. Quick as a flash Pak Him unsheathed his keris and slashed the air. The mosquito was cut into half and fell to the floor, dead. Pak Mat and Pak Lah were impressed.

Presently, another mosquito began buzzing around their heads. Quick as a flash, Pak Mat unsheathed his keris and slashed the air. The mosquito was cut into three pieces and fell to the floor, dead. Pak Him was amazed and patted Pak Mat on the shoulder in admiration and approval.

Soon, another mosquito began buzzing around their heads. Without looking up from his plate, Pak Lah Unsheathed his keris and slashed the air frantically. The mosquito did not fall dead; instead, it continued to buzzaround their heads.

Both Pak Him and Pak Mat looked at each other quizzically. They then turned to Pak Lah and remarked “What was all that about? We saw you slashed the air with your keris but but the mosquito lives. “ Pak Lah looked up from his plate and said, “Aah, but now the mosquito is circumcised!” :)

WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?

ONCE, long ago in a land far away, there lived four little characters who ran through a

Maze looking for cheese to nourish them and make them happy. Two were mice, named

"Sniff" and "Scurry" and two were Little people, their names were "Hem" and "Haw."

They all shared something in common: every morning, they each put on their jogging suits and running shoes, left their little homes, and raced out into the Maze looking for their favourite cheese.

Finally, Sniff, Scurry, Hem and Haw all discovered what they were looking for. They each found their own kind of cheese one day at the end of one of the corridors in cheese Station C.

Every morning after that, the mice and the Little people dressed in their running clothes and went to Cheese Station C.

Sniff and Scurry continued to wake early every day and race through the Maze, always following the same route. When they realized that the cheese was running low, they moved on to find new cheese.

In the beginning Hem and Haw also raced toward Cheese Station C every morning. But after a while, they awoke each day a little later, dressed a little slower, and walked to Cheese Station C.

Hem and Haw didn’t realize that the cheese was low, until one day the cheese was no longer there. "What! No Cheese?". "Who moved my Cheese?" he shouted. "It's not fair!" They sat and contemplated about what to do. They were afraid to look for cheese elsewhere. They were afraid of change.

While Sniff and Scurry had quickly moved on, Hem and Haw continued to “hem and haw”. Haw started to get depressed. He had made future plans based on this Cheese.

The next day Hem and Haw left their homes, and returned to Cheese Station C again, where they still expected, somehow, to find their Cheese. But the situation hadn't changed; the Cheese was no longer there. The Little people didn't know what to do. Hem and Haw just stood there, immobilized like two statues.

Haw eventually was able to see what he was doing, laughed at himself, faced his fears and followed Sniff and Scurry into the maze in search of new cheese, while Hem remained behind, thinking that somehow, someway, his cheese will someday be replaced.

Soon, Haw realized that he was enjoying the change of pace and that the hunt really wasn’t so bad. So he understood and embraced change, he wrote what he had learned on the wall, hoping the signs would help Hem find his way. Finally, he met Sniff and Scurry in the new cheese station they had discovered.

The story ended with Hem realizing that when you can read the writing on the wall, you can do well in changing times.

Moral of the story

The moral of the story is that, sooner or later, each of us will experience change in our lives, and we will all deal with it in different ways. The ones who move on will have a chance to find a new source of comfort, while those that remain behind are condemned to failure.
